This project is a yearlong online written and visual document of my voyage towards completion of my MFA at School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May 2011.

thirty three: art looped and instructed to dance

Katya Grokhovsky, 2010, untitled, photo Andrew Green

Once upon a time they created art loop open competition.
an artist entered.

art looped, forever turning , wheels in motionless stagger...
looping it's own vertigo, let me step off and collapse into a useless crumbling heap in the corner of conceptual thought
the conceptualised
instructed to dance
dance as if no more tomorrow
dance northbound
dance and slow
as if there is no one to love and care for

poem to reality check
dinner paid by a mystery man
voted public, public voted?
they danced softly clumsily to my instructions on the wall and voted for me

abroad and tainted
how far

nausea ad
ad nauseum
pretty close and shutting down.
overload through highway of art, intentional nausea
alert and emptied out
concrete and magnificent
tell you what,
this perhaps, should have been a hobby? what a name for a show..
perhaps
alert and sleepy
sleep
sleep
instructed to live slower and calm down. Calming down
4pm calm and sleepy. in bed on Monday.
Exhausted state of Graduate.

Trimming the access of the layers of fatigue, here, now, just a little bit more, warmth, blankets, bed bed drream, please a little bit more..ok.
